I am very pleased and honored to announce that one of my plein air paintings “Summer Glory II” received the juror's award at The 2015 Northwest Pastel Society Members Exhibit on Vashon Island, WA, from Jennifer Evenhus. The award came with a beautiful 48 color landscape set of Holbein Artists’ Soft Pastel sticks by Holbein Company in Williston, VT., which are among the finest pastel sticks on the market and already put to good use in my studio!

One other painting “Plein Air Passion” which was done in September at Olympic National Park was also accepted into the NPS members’ exhibit. The show hangs at Vashon Allied Arts Gallery, 19704 Vashon Highway, sw on Vashon Island, through November 28th.
Unfortunately, I missed the show opening because I was one of twenty four artists participating in the 7th Annual Zion National Park Plein Air Invitational, that same weekend in southern Utah. More on the Zion event in my next blog.
