18th Annual Carmel Art Festival

I have been juried into the 18th Annual Carmel Arts Festival which will be held May 12-15, at Carmel, California. Sixty artists will be painting for 2 days and competing for recognition awards. This year, a guest judge, Mr. Jean Stern, executive director of The Irvine Museum, has been announced to jury the 120 entries that will be presented to the public on Saturday, May 14th. Mr. Stern is a noted scholar on plein air painting, especially works from the California Impressionists.
Go to www.carmelartfestival.org for complete event details and to see a list of the artists who were accepted into this year's event. This event is attended by thousands of art lovers and features both a silent and live auction of works made during the festival, 2 days of live music, a live sculpture demo, and a “quick draw” for award winners on Sunday. I hope to see any of you who might be in the area at the festival! The piece pictured here “Changing Tide” was one of my works from the 2010 festival.

Absentee Bidding: Sat., May 14th only for paintings displayed on the festival web site. To get on the mailing list for absentee bidding please email Hella at cafauction2011@yahoo.com
