Lazy Summer Afternoon in July

Painted at the old Oberholzter Farm on Lopez Island on a hot afternoon, July 11 2023. This farm stands at the corner of Lopez Sound Road and Center Road (just about at the center of the island) and has been farmed by several families over the past 130 or so years. Old family names (Oberholzter, Mc Cauley's, Washburn's, Coffelts and others) have farmed this general area of the island, keeping the rural legacy alive. It was O.B. and Wanda Oberholzter who owned it when I moved here in 1974, hence my own reference to this place nearly a half century ago.
