Beauty and the Beast, Anacortes Refinery

This wind and rain storm just starting across Fidalgo Bay and the Anacortes Refinery underscores the delicate mood of our island environment, with a large oil tanker ready to dock. I feel like this is one of my best paintings done en plein air, with the steam rising from the refinery and clouds casting an eerie pall over the entire bay. This painting is in the artists' private collection.
