About this work

Painted en plein air at Ston, Croatia, October 1, 2018. This 14th century wall stretches 5 km, from Ston to Mali Ston, at the narrowest neck of the Peljesac Peninsula, meant to protect the salt pans that contributed to Dubrovnk's wealth back then. They consist of several walls and fortresses including the Bishops Palace in the foreground. This is the largest and longest preserved fortified wall in Europe.
