Moab Musings

This plein air painting at Spanish Valley, near Moab, Utah, was done on October 12, 2017, the same day as my mother's birthday. She never got to see this as she passed in 2004, but I still think of her and how she would have loved this secluded desert oasis with the distant violet and red rocks, looking airy, just above Moab. I particularly loved the bright splash of autumn color against the sagebrush at this site and plan to return again
