Car Talk, Havana Taxi Stand

Painted from reference my reference photos from Havana, Cuba in February 2016, during the historic "Paint Cuba" plein air inviational 10 day trip organzied by B. Eric Rhoads, publisher of Plein Air Magazine. I was one of 78 artists from the U.S. invited to paint in Havana. I will never forget the thousdands of 1940's & 50's cars still on the road that we experienced there! It was a time warp, steping back to pre 1959 when Castro took over the government asnd locked Cuba into perpetual poverty. These cars have been restored to near new factory condition, with many serving as "taxis" along with horse carts, bicycle and coconut cabs (3 wheel motorcycles) all for hire to tour Havana.
