Summer Day, makes me feel fine!

This hay field on the south and of Lopez Island overlooks the Straits of Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountains about 60 miles away. It is my all time favorite field with a barn to paint on Lopez Island. The iconoc old barn was built in 1905 by Don Burt, Sr., sr (I believe) and the hay is still faremd for the present day owner by Don Burt, great grandson of the builder It doesn't get any better than that - old family heritage still connected to rural land stewardship and one danged fine barn that glows in early summer morning light. The hay hadn't  been cut yet, so the colors look like they're on steroids in bright summer sun. Makes me feel fine!
