Fish Bay Tombolo Impressions

This waterway wraps Fisherman Bay on Lopez Island, to the west and provides great painting possibilities, any time of day . . . like 5:45 a.m. this morning. 

The deep morning shadows with trees framing many of the structures adds a sense of moody isolation at daybreak providing a great composition to explore.

This painting was selected for the July 2024 "Top 100" Salon Competition in Plein Air Magazine, judged by master artists, Michelle Dunaway and in the August 2024 Top 100 Finalist by David Ethridge.
