Full On Summer Day - Swift Bay Farm

This farm and barn overlook Swift Bay on Lopez Island, about one mile from the water was built over a century ago. It is still an active farm that now stands as a testament to an old island era, when the rural landscape held graceful hand-hewed structures that blended gracefully into the landscape and served the island community with abundant organic food.

Unfortunately, more modern buildings, adorned with characteristic plastic architectural ugliness that "the new people" moving to the San Juan Islands build are destroying the inherent beauty of our rural landscape, together with a prissy attitude that fosters No Trespassing signs all around their perimeters.
