Snowy Morning, Port Stanley December 20, 2022

We had 11" of snow on Lopez Island last night, which changed a familiar view from our home, southeast across Swifts Bay to the historic old beach community of Port Stanley, a mile in the distance. Snow changes everything and this gave me a rare opportunity to paint bright early morning reflective light effects en plein air. A commercial crab boat got into the act for just a moment and then quickly sped off as I was working.
