Misty Summer Morning, Port Stanley

Painted en plein air at daybreak on a misty August morning, with sun trying to break through the layers. I love these old rowboats resting in the grasses along this stretch of beach. Some have been there for years, while others are used for crabbing in the summer.

They evoke a strong sense of place that makes this old port area seem timeless. The water this morning had a very soft glow under the distant fog layers, with light bouncing all over the place and creating a soft glow in the distance.
