Lazy Lopez Summer

This field and farmstead just a 1/2 mile north of Lopez Village has long been a favorite painting site for me. The slope of the land and distant water (San Juan Channel) together with the far distant Olympic Mountains set it apart nicely. More importantly is catching the right light in the hay field, which was about 2 p.m. on this hot summer day, together with a certain motion that these hay fields still hold from recent mowing and baling.
