Lopez Island, located in the San Juan Islands of Washington, displays a variety of glacial landforms, shaped by the advance and retreat of the Vashon Ice Sheet during the last continental glaciation. I like to think this valley along School Road was a final frontier, during the Pleistocene Epoch, which lasted from two million years b.p. (before present) to about 10,000 years b.p. Give or take a few hundred centuries.
